"We hope to deliver an important message to society that animals have a right to life and should be treated well too."

Hi Joyce! Let’s start by telling us about yourself.

Hi Cross Nation! My name is Joyce Hii Yi Hui, I am a student from Brickfields Asia College, currently doing my Year 2 Law Degree. I am also the secretary of PawEr Team in our community service project.

Our project includes the selling of T-shirts to raise fund for an association, which is Second Chance Animal Society, and we will also pay a visit to the animal shelter. Via e-brochures, we will spread the awareness regarding the rights of homeless animals.

That's great. What keeps you motivated in organizing this fundraising project?

The project is meaningful, and it is a great chance for me to expose to the animals' welfare.

What is the core message of this event? and why is it so important to the society nowadays?

Nowadays, the society pays more attention to human's rights and welfare than the animals'. Through this event, we hope to deliver an important message to society that animals have a right to life and should be treated well too.

"It is important for the society to understand the needs of the abandoned animals and encourage the public to adopt the animals, rather than buying from the pet shop."

Ok, Joyce. What is the greatest thing that you have experienced throughout the event?

Well, this is my first time experiencing the volunteering project at an animal shelter.

As I did the research on abandoned animal, it was quite surprising for me to know that people are willing to spend money to buy a pet instead of adopting them from an animal shelter.

Therefore, I realised that it is important for the society to understand the needs of the abandoned animals and encourage the public to adopt the animals, rather than buying from the pet shop.

"I love the customer service offered by Cross Nation."

How did the t-shirts from Cross Nation Apparel help your campaign?

We managed to sell the T-shirts and raise funds to buy the necessity for the animal shelter.

In your opinion, what do you think differentiates Cross Nation from the other brands that you’ve used before?

I love the customer service offered by Cross Nation. Their passion in supporting charity events by sponsoring their t-shirt printing service makes them stand out.

Lastly, what advice would you give to the audience who would like to have a dog as pet?

It’s better to adopt a dog rather than buying from a pet shop. Saving some money and helping an abandoned dog, it’s a better deal, isn’t?

Besides that, make sure you are ready for the responsibility of having a pet before adopting one to prevent irresponsible pet abandonment.

That’s fantastic. Thank you for your time, Joyce!

Thank you, Cross Nation!
